Belly button piercing
The belly button piercing, not only the most worn piercing in our western civilization but also the piercing that cleared the path back in the 90's for all the other piercing types. The belly button piercing is a true classic in the piercing scene. Piercing Mania offers a wide range of belly button piercings in all sorts of materials, colors and designs.
Belly Button Piercings
When you want to buy a new belly button piercing there are a lot of different things to keep in mind. You can choose from all sorts of types, materials, colors, and designs. On our piercing blog will we discuss these differences more extensively, for now the most important things to keep in mind when looking for a new belly button piercing.
Firstly, the different types. You can choose from either dangling belly rings, non-dangling belly rings, reversed belly rings or the special pregnancy belly rings. These last one are, obviously, only for pregnancy so we won't exemplify that any further here.
The reversed belly ring is very popular but doesn't offer as much choice as dangling or non-dangling belly button piercings. The bar is nearly invisible when wearing a reversed belly button piercing, this because the piercing itself is in front of the bar. The belly ring is worn upside-down which creates a unique look.
Then you have the choice between dangling and non-dangling belly button piercings. By far the most belly rings have a pendant and for a reason. Dangling belly rings are very popular and offer a lot of room for creative designs.
Piercing Mania advises keeping at least one of both. A non-dangling belly button piercing is often simple in its design and when fully smooth a must have for every collection. They are incredibly comfortable to wear and more importantly, they won't hook into you clothing. That's why it's very convenient to have a non-dangling belly ring for days where you wear clothing a pendant might get stuck in.
Concerning materials you probably already noticed that by far most belly rings are made of surgical steel. It is important to know that this material contains small amounts of nickel and they can stain over time. If you want neither, you should go for a belly button piercing made of solid titanium, solid gold or acrylic.
Do you fancy the gold plated belly rings? You should know that these will start to discolor when they are frequently exposed to water, soaps, sweat etc.
A belly piercing of 6, 8 or 12 mm
The standard size of a belly button piercing is 10 mm. It is common that it is desired to have a different bar length. Just like with our ear piercings, Piercing Mania allows you to filter you searches so you only get to see belly button piercings with an interchangeable bar. Order an extra bar of your preferred length and you got your perfect belly button piercing. You can get bars made from titanium and surgical steel. Do keep in mind that all bars are 1.6 mm thick.
