How does a ball closure ring work?
In order to place or remove the BCR, you need to either place the ball between the ring to close the BCR or remove the ball to open the BCR.
This might be a little difficult, as the ring should be 'opened' in order to do this.Click here for more information

Ball Closure Ring
The Ball Closure Ring is a very well known piercing which is considered to be a true classic for many years. Not that surprising that it knows a lot of different names. Captive Bead Ring and Captive Hoop are the best known after Ball Closure Ring. Also common is the abbreviation BCR. No matter what you call it, the ring which clamps a ball is a truly popular piercing which can be worn in a wide variety of places, for example like a belly button piercing.
Ball Closure Ring, practical piercing
The immense popularity of the BCR is due to it's very practical advantages. Because the piercing consists of a full circle there are no sharp corners which could get stuck behind clothing. The Ball Closure Ring can also bo worn in almost any place. From your nipple to your tragus and from your belly to your nose. Everything is possible.
As said, the BCR holds a ball. This ball has two small dents where the ring goes. The ball is strongly clamped by the ring. The pressure makes that the ring is robust and that it rarely shoots out of place.
Ball Closure Rings, difficulties placing them
That last advantage is also a big disadvantage for most. A Ball Closure Ring can be very difficult to get in place. Because the ring has so much pressure it can be a big hassle to get the ball in place. Thankfully there are some easy solutions to this problem, besides a lot of practice.
For one, you'll find Ball Closure Ring pliers in the accessories category. These pliers are meant for placing and removing Ball Closure Rings. It will also prevent you from overbending your ring. Another solution is the fixed Ball Closure Ring where the ball is attached to one side. This makes placing them easier as you no longer need to worry about the ball.
